School Meals

We are proud of our freshly cooked, healthy lunches and make sure that they are great value too. We have varied menus designed for little taste buds so there is something for every child. Jacket potatoes or Baguettes are available as an alternative as well as an unlimited salad bar. We aim to provide a home cooked meal prepared on the premises with fresh ingredients and through careful planning and purchasing we can do this for just £2.40 per meal which is excellent value.  Meals are ordered a week in advance via the 'My Child at School App'.

Packed lunches

Children are of course welcome to bring a packed lunch to school. We do ask that packed lunches offer a healthy and balanced lunch with fresh fruit and vegetables rather than sugary and fatty snacks.

Due to serious allergies amongst our pupils we are a nut free school.  Please do not include any nut items within your child's lunch box.

NHS Healthier families

The NHS has an informative website with some great lunchbox recipes, lunchbox tips and healthier food swaps. Children helping to prepare their own lunch boxes are far more likely to eat them.  Please click the link: Lunchbox recipes for further information, ideas and activities.

Free school meals

Children in reception, year 1 and year 2 automatically get free school meals. This is called Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) and you do not need to apply for it.

If you are a low income family and your child will be using free school meals, you can support us by letting us know you are using the service. We will then be eligible to apply for more funding to support the provision of education for children in the school.

If you think your child may be eligible for this you need to register with Essex County Council.  Please follow the below link.
