Headteacher Message
Welcome back, I hope you all had a good Christmas break. It’s been great to see all the children back with such positive attitudes at the start of a new year. We have lots of exciting things planned this term including yoga and finance sessions for all children and balance bike ability for the reception class. Clubs started back this week, I was pleased so many children signed up for choir, consequently we now have two sessions. KS1 children straight after their lunch on a Wednesday and KS2 children on a Thursday. Today, along with this newsletter the office will be sending out updated dates for this term. I will write to confirm dates for the Easter service and community worship early next week.
Staffing
Last term, we sadly said goodbye to Mrs Beamish who now works as a learning assistant in a school closer to home. We welcomed Mrs Grimes as a midday supervisor, she has been getting to know the children and the lunchtime routine. Mrs Allison is also leaving us this week as she moves to pastures new. We will miss her dinners and wish her all the best in her new role. Mrs Mixture has stepped into the role as catering manager and has some exciting theme days planned so watch this space!
Headteacher’s Afternoon Tea
Please pop along on Friday 10th February at 2:30pm for a drink and some delicious cake. I will be asking for your feedback following on from the homework survey, the different ways we report to parents and updating you on plans for the running track. Everyone is very welcome.
After School Club
We are really pleased that this will be launching in February (exact date TBC). If you would like to register or find out some more information please follow this link - Wrap Around Care
RSE
Today you will have received a letter containing information about the relationship and sex education lessons that we will be delivering at the end of this month. We hope you find this useful, if you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask us or look on the schools website - RSE learning
3PR
3PR is back! (3 Parking Rules - Care, Consideration, Caution)
Thank you to the year 6 helpers and all those parents/carers who parked considerately.
Please do not park or stop even for a short moment on the yellow zig zag lines outside school. Any cars stopped or parked on the zig zagged area have a restricted view of small children who are about to cross the road. The children may not see approaching cars, and approaching motorists may not see children. There are several parking spaces in Blossom Way which is just a short walk from the school, which are often empty, so if you are struggling to find somewhere to park this would seem a sensible solution.
