Headteacher Message
There are plenty of regular reminders that Covid 19 is still very much a big part of our lives. It may not be the first agenda item in the news but it is always referred to. Sadly, there have been cases in school this week and asking families to take PCR tests I am afraid, could become a regular occurrence. Please continue to be vigilant with protective measures including taking lateral flow tests at home. My daughter started high school this term and they have already re introduced masks in corridors and taken other protective measures as cases have risen.
It was a positive step for the school to schedule events and add them to the school calendar to share with families. We hope to continue this process. Look out for ParentMail forms about events this term. We sincerely hope the contents of the first paragraph do not cause some of the events at school to be restricted / postponed but please look out for messages. We do intend to invite parents for Celebration Assembly this term but this is under review and will be 'invitation' only for Platinum / ASPIRE certificate winners. We have planned Class Assemblies for the year, dates are as follows. They are all scheduled to begin at 09:15.

It has been lovely to welcome children back to clubs so they can really shine, learn skills, socialise and be physically and mentally healthy. I got to experience those emotions last Saturday with my first game of rugby since early 2020. The Chelmsford Vets played a friendly against 'Wooden Spoon' a charity team that raises funds for disadvantaged children. We enjoyed a 'Vice Presidents' lunch afterwards and paid our respects to members of the club who passed away during a time when it was difficult for people to be physically close. The connections we all have with each other, at our places of work, schools and in our communities remain so very important.
I have really enjoyed teaching Class North America on Monday mornings and Y6 on Monday afternoon for science. This week I got to run around with Y1 and Y2 in PE, when covering for an absent coach.
I look forward to taking Class Australia soon so I can get to know their names.
Have a pleasant weekend.
Mr Burden
